The texts

When my conviction is questioned without basis — and especially when it feels like an injustice — a powerful inner reaction is triggered. It’s an almost chemical, visceral response: where doubt paralyzes others, it energizes me and gives me wings.

It’s not just resilience; it’s a raw, inner force I’ve had since early childhood, one that makes it impossible for me to let them be right.

The photographer’s view

Claudia Jaguaribe is a Brazilian photographer whose work explores how people and environments evolve, adapt and assert their presence in a changing world. A central dimension of her practice is a double focus on resilience, understood as the capacity of individuals and landscapes to endure and transform, and recognition, the ongoing search for visibility, identity and acknowledgment. These themes appear with particular clarity in her recent series in which she recreates portraits of women using AI, combining photography, digital reconstruction and imagined histories. Through these hybrid images, she reflects on how women reclaim space, redefine themselves and continue to be seen even when their stories have been fragmented or forgotten. This same inquiry extends across her larger body of work, where she blends documentary approaches and visual experimentation to show how the human and the natural continually reinvent themselves.
